Re: Why unregulate an s410.

The laws of physics determine the trade off. The lower the reg pressure the more air you need per shot (at constant energy). The trade off, as reg pressure is lowered, is more usable air vs higher rate of usage. I haven't fitted a Lane reg so can't comment other than to say my understanding is that...

Re: Why unregulate an s410.

. Even then there is a trade off: for the same energy, the mass of air per shot needs to increase as you reduce the reg pressure. Sorry but what does that mean? you balance the reg pressure with everything else - valve and hammer springs, hammer, port etc to get the most efficient use of the availa...

Re: HFT500 stock

They're still pretty common in HFT down here as far as I know. There were at least 5 or 6 at our last shoot, three were on adjoining pegs and we spent waiting times comparing them  None of us had any complaint about the stock apart from the reach, which we'd sorted with different spacers, m...

Re: HFT500 stock

You must have small hands mine aren't particularly big but I couldn't cope with the button being so close so my finger was wrapping round it and ended up making a longer trigger blade to sort it. , Also replaced the standard 480mm air cylinder with a standard 400mm one off a 400S to lose a bit of fr...

It’s a custom stock only with a standard s200

BBF
Only to a point, not really "custom" as it's a factory stock/rifle there's a few about if you look, the SCR one is a new gun.

Re: Regulator

I don't know about FAC, but I have fitted three Altaros regs in .177 sub-12's now and have had no problem whatever with them. They do exactly what they should and deliver 100 bar (or whatever you set them to) every shot. With 2 carbines and a Classic I have found that if you just put them in as per...

Re: Ultimate Sporter

Just to clarify, if you want to find the peak on the unregulated curve you don't usually have to remove the regulator. Just turn the reg pressure up as high as it will go. You should get a flat line from fill/max pressure to the reg set point then the velocity will rise after the gun comes off reg,...

Re: Ultimate Sporter

Lane supplies his Air Arms .177 regulators set to 105 bar. You shouldn't have to touch that setting at all if you do everything right. I fitted one to my 400 carbine, after loads of trials and testing I'm now up to 114 shots before it drops off the reg, doing 11.3 fpe, that's filling to 200bar, the ...

Re: The New 2018 Forum

Must be just me then :? I think this new style layout is rubbish, posters and posts aren't very clear it's like everything merges together and why does every post in a thread have to have the thread title at the beginning? I've given it a week and just can't get on with it all and don't think I ever...
