Ooh that's lovely. A proper job then! Yeah I can understand keeping that clean dry and still!

Ouch! Well if it was the all important finger then I can quite understand. Squeezing one off with a sore digit must be uncomfortable...

It must have been pretty bad to keep a hunter indoors. What did you do?

1st trip of the year and it's grim out here!

Afternoon all. After all the shenanigans around December, I've finally made a spare day to get out to my newest permission. Typical that the weather forecast was miles off, it hasn't stopped ruddy raining! Still, the S410 has accounted for 10 ferals and a Woodie so far, and hoping to bring some.corv...

Re: Newbie TX200HC fettling

Cheers! I will have another wee polish when the Tinbum bits arrive. I've also ordered a new pair of piston rings so will see what fldifference those make. I had half hour and 40 odd shots today. Most importantly, we're running just about on 11lbs, dropping a tad below, so that's a huge relief! I cle...

Re: Newbie TX200HC fettling

So, the bits from Chambers arrived at last!! Flatted and polished the main spring ends in my lunch break (i eat too much anyway!) Popped down the shed this evening (brrr) and assembled the beastie. So I have lightly polished all the internals and removed any burrs (very few!) Flatted and polished th...

Re: Newbie TX200HC fettling

Cheers Gary. I will compare the WW lube with the Chambers lube and see which feels the better quality. I must confess to having had a play with the Autosol tonight. Nothing serious, just a rub and buff of all moving parts. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the new spring, I'll use the surfac...

Are these standard internals? I'm guessing they are but it is only a guess!

Re: Newbie TX200HC fettling

Thanks Gary, that does sound like a good plan! I hope postie will bring the seal and spring tomorrow, I'm itching to get cracking! Is it worth facing and polishing the spring ends? I will re-lube with the stuff provided from Chambers. I do have some left over from putting a Welsh Willy kit in the Re...

Re: Newbie TX200HC fettling

Cheers chaps. I've not chronoed it yet, quite literally only put a dozen shots through. I could see the internals were covered in gunk so my 1st action was always going to be a clean up and fettle. The new standard spring and bits will be here tomorrow with any luck, so will be able to play in a lun...
