Re: Left handed MPR

Thanks Roger. I've decided I've got enough guns for the time being, so I'm going to give this one a miss (for now :D )

Left handed MPR

Hi Folks - my first post for a long time! I've been offered a left-handed MPR FT in its original stock. I'm right handed. Can anyone tell me what needs to be changed please?

Re: 500 tuning recommendations

Sorry if it's a bit late now, but you could try Dave Penman in Dalgety Bay. He's first class - if he's still doing these things. He's Dyno Dave on Scottish Airgunner and Shooting the Breeze, or PM me and I'll send you his details.

Re: Air stripper

I have thoroughly tested several different types of air stripper, including Rowan, on my AA guns, Steyrs and HW100. I have come to the conclusion that, as Gary said, on these guns at least, any improvement in grouping is probably due to adding weight to the barrel - and personally I didn’t find any ...

Re: AA S510R TDR velocity test

I hope you are right about about the heavier pellets. If your 510 was not regulated, I would expect JSB Heavies to add about 0.5 ft.lb over standard AADF's - it'll be interesting to see what the 'R' version does, so please let us know.

Good luck and stay safe.

Re: Regulator, are they worth changing

To back up what Tony said, regulating any rifle length S-series gun is just not worth it. It may be worth considering for the carbine versions and, speaking from experience, I would recommend using the Altaros reg, as it is as good as the Lane or HuMa and doesn't need a hole in the cylinder. One of ...

Re: HFT 500 barrel clean

I've never been impressed with any of the fire-through wads - concerned pieces might break off and contaminate moderators and strippers - so I always pull through... sometimes I'll take moderators off but usually with a straw. I now only use felts. As soon as I suspect a loss of precision I shoot t...

Re: S510 breech seal

I usually use a BS008 in my S400 as it makes a better seal. Won't fit my HFT500 though. Just try it and see :D I put a 4mm wooden dowel down the barrel to form a backstop, then trap the bottom of the o ring in the groove with an Allen key and use the end of a broken wooden cocktail stick to push the...
