Re: S510 power adjustment screw creeping?

3 x 3 cup point grub screw - never had a problem on any gun, and I've used it on quite a few now. If the power screw is very loose it might reduce your power an fps or two, as the grub screw pushes it very slightly down before it locks, but that's just means the usual Air Arms trial-and-error approa...

Re: S510 power adjustment screw creeping?

If the grub screw is tight, it locks the adjuster against the threads and it won't move in either direction.

Re: S510 power adjustment screw creeping?

Tony, I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but I suggest you go back to the basic, recommended set up and work from there. First set your reg to the 100 bar recommended by Altaros for standard, S-series guns (trial-and-error if you haven't got a reg tester, but not difficult). Then install exac...

Re: S510 power adjustment screw creeping?

I'm quite a fan of Altaros regulators, but the four I know fairly well do creep upwards with time. Judging by the inbuilt pressure gauge (I don't have anything better) my own, in an S400, crept about 5-10 bar in a year or so. Certainly the average MV for 8.4 Air Arms pellets crept from 772 to 780. I...

Re: hft 500 in a s400 stock.

It makes the gun a lot lighter, but it does make it quite forward balanced, as you haven't got the weight of the chunky original stock to counteract the barrel and long cylinder. I strongly suggest you try it out before you commit, especially as some people find that the CS700 stock is too low for t...

Re: hft 500 in a s400 stock.

Yes. I use my HFT 500 in a CS 700 stock often - and I don't know what modification they mean, mine is bog standard. See my first reply.

Re: hft 500 in a s400 stock.

Just a quick update - I tried another club member's Superlite trigger guard on my HFT500 today (sorry Davie, you really shouldn't leave your gun unattended :D !) You have to take the two tiny locator pins out of the HFT 500, but they are just a push fit and can be pulled easily. The problem is, as C...

Re: Tuning

What pellets are you using? If not Air Arms 0.452, give them a try. It's a bit of a long shot, but easily tested and I'm still amazed at the difference the choice of pellets can make to just about anything! If that doesn't make any difference, and it really is a drop off at 125 bar, rather than just...

Re: hft 500 in a s400 stock

...Unfortunately you can't fit a standard trigger guard to the HFT 500, or at least, not without more modification than I'd want to make. ... Alan Interesting. The S4/500 has trigger unit chassis S313 where the HFT500 has chassis S313-FT. I can't see for the life of me what the difference is apart ...

Re: hft 500 in a s400 stock

Sorry, I've only just spotted this one. Yes the HFT500 does fit any of the standard S4/500 stocks. You might find the trigger guard a bit uncomfortable on your second finger, but a bit of tape or Sugru fixes that for me. Unfortunately you can't fit a standard trigger guard to the HFT 500, or at leas...
