Re: New member requests advice S410

Hi Tommy Fitting an Altaros or Huma reg to any S series AA is very easy once you've got the anti tamper out (that's easy enough in theory, but can be a pig in practice). The question is whether it is worth doing, particularly for a .22. Set up properly, a reg will increase the shot count but it won'...

Re: Anyone got Snow today?

Completely snowed in here in Perthshire. Nothing can move on the minor roads - even the snow ploughs aren't making it - and the main roads are either closed or empty. Funny thing is there's been no major blizzards, just snow shower after snow shower dropping dry granules that make it just about impo...

Visionking scope - when is a mildot not a mildot

I bought a Visionking scope through Amazon. It was described as : "Visionking Wide Angle 2-10x32 First Focal Plane rifle scope Mil-dot AR15 223" . When it arrived the so-called mildots were in fact much further apart. Visionking confirmed that the spacing is 1.7 mildots. I returned the sco...

Re: Galahad vs s410 bull pup kit?

I had a bullpup itch and bought an FX Bobcat. That solved the problem - never want to touch a bullpup (or smooth twist barrel, or anything made by FX) ever again.... :(

Stick to your S410...

Re: Regged Carbine Shot Count.

My regged .177 carbine gives about 75 regged shots with the Altaros reg set at 100 bar. I have not enlarged the transfer port, but I shortened the hammer spring by 1 coil and adjusted to 775 fps with an AADF by adjusting the valve spring. Before cutting the spring I was only getting about 45 regged ...

Re: scopes and wearing glasses

I have both distance and reading glasses, (age I'm afraid is catching me up!!), I shoot without wearing either as I find that it's more comfortable without glasses on and the scope more than makes up for my shortsightedness. I normally wear vari-focals but recently I've found it better to shoot wit...

Re: Hft 500

There are minor differences between the workings of S series and the HFT 500, but nothing that seems likely to make a difference, except the barrel. The HFT 500 barrel is 14 mm as opposed to 12.5mm for the S-series, and the transfer port of the HFT 500 (the hole through which the air from the cylind...

Re: Pro sport AND TX200HC

I've had both guns and although the Pro Sport looks stunning I preferred the TX200 HC. The Pro Sport was easy enough to cock. although after a few HFT rounds, or a long day on the range, the channelled cocking lever got quite sore on my hands. The main reason I preferred the TX was the balance, whic...
