Re: dodgy moderator
Presumably you can dismantle the silencer and if it is clipping the pellet you will find little bits of silvery particles inside on the felt liner and grey streaks on the exit hole. Silencer clipping is quite common, on both pcps I've owned, a webley axsor and AA s410 both had problems with silencer...

Re: Hawke gone bad.
Deben who are the UK distributers for Hawke optics have a very good reputation for after sales service. I have read several cases where they replace faulty scopes without hesitation.

Re: 510 fac
I have the FAC version of the S410 Classic, same specs as the 510, only a bolt instead of the lever action. It achieves 30 ish shots at 25 ftlbs, ideally I think you want 30 ftlbs in .22 which equates to 900 ft per second. The S510 that can reach that is the Extra version which in my opinion is too ...

Re: Police checks
I agree with the opinion that someone must have made a complaint concerning the club or a suspicion of wrong doing because normaly the police wouldn't be interested. Now that they are interested complaining would be counterproductive and give cause for suspicion. Just make sure every member's rifles...

Re: s400 carbine with full length cylinder
Now that is a handsome rifle!! If memory serves me right GML aka "the doctor" stopped making them because he (they) had trouble sourcing the air cylinders.

Re: SCOPE / MOUNT HEIGHT , ZERO DISTANCES AND THE EFFECTIVE
Gary I realise FTers dial in the range rather than relying on hold over aim points but I was trying to describe the principal involved in explaining why having high mounts favours longer ranges by looking down the path of the pellet after it has reached the top of the arc of its course, I was just t...

Re: SCOPE / MOUNT HEIGHT , ZERO DISTANCES AND THE EFFECTIVE
I believe FT shooters use high mounts as some of their targets are further away than hunters who usually limit themselves to say 40yds. The benefit of high mounts when shooting longer range targets is that less hold over is needed for targets relatively far away because the scope is looking down the...

Re: s400 carbine with full length cylinder
Some years ago Blackpool Air Rifles (BAR) offered a conversion of a carbine S410 with a classic air cylinder but the original carbine barrel and an air stripper to finish it off.
The result was a good looking rifle the only disadvantage was there was not enough room to fit a silencer.

Re: AA s410 trigger/ charge advice needed
Older S410s didn't have the little spring at the rear of the trigger, the trigger was floppy until cocked. The change over was about 2006 I believe about the same time as the T bar fill adapter. If the OP has the old style fill adapter then in all probability the trigger didn't have the spring.
